Vera Wang is an American fashion designer of Chinese decent who is most famous for her bridal gowns. Originally trained as a figure skater and competed professionally, but when she didn't make the Olympic team, she left sport and entered the fashion industry. She became Vogue's youngest editor ever, at age 23 but didn't stay long and in 1985 went to work as a design director for Ralph Lauren before starting her own company two years later. She became the top choice for bridal gowns and dressed many great celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez, Sharon Stone and Kate Hudson. Her line extended to include eyeglasses, shoes, fur, home goods and fragrances. The first fragrance, Signature Vera Wang was introduced in 2002. A companion men's scent was released two years later. From there she created up to 24 perfumes including Forever Vera, Hippie Princess, Lovestruck and Princess.
