Pierre Cardin is an Italian-born French fashion designer who gained fame for his futuristic fashions in the 50’s and 60’s. Some of Cardin’s earliest designs include costumes for films by Jean Cocteau, as well as for theatrical productions. His first women’s wear collection was shown in 1953, and the popularity of his “bubble dress” design enabled him to open his first women’s boutique in 1954. Pierre Cardin began offering perfumes under his own brand with men’s scent Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur in 1972. The fragrances are produced in conjunction with Coty and now have 42 perfumes in their fragrance base including Emotion and Iris Sauvage.
